The 4 Gold ingredients of in-cosmetics Global 2017

The in-cosmetics Global show held on April 4-6 in London rewarded the best cosmetic ingredients launched over the past six months in several categories. Here is a detailed report on the four winners in the following categories: Active Ingredients, Functional ingredients, Green ingredients, and Make-Up.

Gold Award Active ingredients: Passioline (Expanscience)

Here is a very good example of what responsible cosmetic development is: Expanscience implemented this project in Peru, by exploiting the passion fruit juice industry’s by-products.

An oil…
At the beginning, there is the virgin maracuja oil, obtained by the first cold pressing of the unexploited seeds from the fruits, washed and dried. Thanks to its very high content in tocotrienol (40mg/100g) and in tocopherol (4mg/100g), two powerful antioxidants, this oil helps strengthen the skin's barrier function and protects it from external stresses. This fluid oil, with its yellow to orangey yellow colour, its volatile touch, and the fruity notes of its fragrance, can be incorporated into all types of formulations (body care, moisturizing facial care, serums, hair care, etc.). Approved in China, by Ecocert and Cosmos, preservative-free, it can be used in percentages from 1 to 100%, in dispersion in the oily phase, at a temperature up to 50°C.
