A corrigendum to the Cosmetics Regulation

© L'Observatoire des Cosmétiques

A typo had slipped into the French text of Regulation 2015/1190, amending Annex III of Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009, in particular for the conditions of use of thioglycolic acid and its salts. It has just been corrected.

Regulation 2015/1190 of 20 July 2015 amended Annex III of Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009, devoted to substances subject to restrictions. Nine ingredients used in hair dyes have been added, with maximum concentration limits and mandatory warnings on sensitization risks. New provisions have also been included for the conditions of use of thioglycolic acid and its salts.

It was in this last point that a typo had slipped into the French text. In column i (Conditions of use and warnings) of entry 2a (Thioglycolic acid and its salts) of Annex III (Restricted substances), it was noted that the words"Contains esters of thioglycolic acid" should appear on the labelling. It had to read, of course,"Contains thioglycolic acid salts".

This point was therefore corrected by the Corrigendum of 13 October 2015, published in the Official Journal of the European Union L 266/97. Similar changes were also made to the Italian version of the text .
