Exposition of environmental cosmetics: Get ready!

L'affichage environnemental des produits cosmétiques devra permettre au consommateur d'orienter ses choix.

We have started to talk more and more about environmental impact, in professional circles. And soon consumers will have to consider it before buying any products of everyday life … cosmetics included. The listing of environmentally safe products for mass consumption will become a reality … even if it is still unclear for many of us! In which all, however: manufacturers, distributors, consumers or citizens, are more than interested in the fact that it interests us!

The Copenhagen conference on climate change perhaps did not match up to its expectations for the planet, the issue of impact of human activites on its future, nonetheless it will translate significantly and concretly in our daily life. Like starting on the first of January 2011, with this exposition of environmental impact on products and for services of mass consumption. But what exactly does it mean? What does that represent? What rapport does it have with bio? What products will be affected? How should we interpret it and what should we do?

No simple matter to depart from generalities and good intentions. The "dossier" however goes well beyond these. With the neccessity of having a specialist to help us leaf through the pages, The Cosmetics Observatory turned to Herve Rebollo, Director of Economic and International Affairs of  FEBEA (Federation of Beauty Enterprises), and Secretary of GT4B (National Labour Group No. 4 on "Beauty") which works in the operational implementation of environmental listing within the cosmetics sector.
