NaTrue on the American soil

undefined

A new episode in the battle of European organic cosmetics labels, in search of international recognition and establishment. While we are still waiting for the COSMOS-Standard to arrive in Europe, NaTrue announces a new partnership with NSF International to set up an American label for natural cosmetics.

In a press release dated February 10, 2011, NaTrue and NSF International announced their partnership to create “the first American standard for natural cosmetics.
The text states that “NSF International, a certification body dedicated to the protection of the environment and public health, will lead the development of the new American standard for natural cosmetics based on the NaTrue criteria.” He adds that “this partnership marks an important step towards international harmonisation and the recognition of a global definition of natural cosmetics.”

No more confusion for consumers, says the press release, and more simplicity for natural cosmetics producers who want to sell their products on both sides of the Atlantic and even around the world.
Maybe… until the COSMOS standard, NaTrue’s major competitor, also ends up on the labels… and claiming exactly the same advantages, based on its own criteria.
