The in-cosmetics Formulation summit in the climate change age

La conférence in-cosmetics Formulation à l'heure du changement climatique

For its 6th edition, this international event dedicated to cosmetic formulation will be held in 100% digital format, from 17 to 19 November 2020. As every year, the conferences, round tables and exchanges will explore a major current trend, formulation in the climate change age, and how formulators and R&D can respond positively to it, far beyond the simple notions of naturalness or sustainability.

Reading time
~ 2 minutes

This event will look at the different aspects of “good” science that can enable formulators to create the best products for consumers and the planet.
The programme will include high-level discussions and presentations by industry experts, who will address both the challenges and opportunities of cosmetic formulation, as well as networking opportunities to facilitate collaboration and creativity around the topic.

What will be covered? • Biochemistry: To develop green processes to recover waste materials and transform them into cosmetic ingredients.
• Polymer Chemistry: As a tool to build packaging that can be decomposed within a reasonable timeframe.
• Environmental sciences: To understand what criteria we should look at in order for our sunscreens (and not only them) not to destroy the aquatic environment.
• Advanced Colloid Chemistry and Rheology: To help formulators set up selection criteria and test methods to enable the use of fewer and more efficacious ingredients (e.g. emulsifiers, stabilisers, thickening agents, etc.).
• Chemometricians: To lead us through the maze of multivariate statistics to optimise production processes in order to use less energy and resources.
• Physicist: To talk us through the benefits of developing a quanto-mechanic-based thinking, more efficient and flexible than the traditional Newtonian, linear …
