The Green Impact Index creates its Consortium

Le Green Impact Index crée son Consortium

A group of 25 actors representing more than 1,000 companies, reinforced by several independent consultancies and an academic structure, have decided, under the aegis of AFNOR Normalisation, to pool their expertise to define a methodology for displaying the environmental and social impact of skincare and well-being products. This future methodology will be based on a first version of the Green Impact Index launched in June 2021 by the Pierre Fabre Group to measure and display the socio-environmental impact of its products.

The actors of the Consortium have decided to join their efforts in order to draft an AFNOR Spec that will revise the Green Impact Index methodology to improve it and make it usable by the greatest number of people.
At the end of the work (expected by the end of the second quarter of 2023), the methodology will be available to any company, from the very small to the large international group, wishing to measure, improve and simply display the environmental and social impact of its care or well-being products, within the standardised and co-constructed framework provided by an AFNOR Spec.

“The open, collective and participative initiative of the Green Impact Index Consortium gives laboratories the size of Phytema, which has a dozen employees, the opportunity to share their needs and expertise. The outcome of this AFNOR Spec will enable start-ups, VSEs and SMEs to improve the eco-design of their products autonomously on the basis of a reliable, robust and financially accessible methodology,” commented François Arduin, CEO of Laboratoire Phytema and member of the Green Impact Index Consortium.
