Cosmébio (re)affirms that natural and organic cosmetics are effective

Cosmébio (ré)affirme que les cosmétiques naturels et bio sont performants

Rumor has it that the results of natural skincare products are inferior to those of conventional ranges. Cosmébio has decided to silence these rumors with scientific proof to the contrary. The association has conducted an efficacy survey in partnership with an independent research company.

“This approach follows on from an initial study carried out in 2018, which had already addressed the issue of hydration and concluded that organic products are more effective than their conventional counterparts. Six years on, it’s time to reinforce these results by exploring a crucial aspect expected by consumers: anti-ageing action,” explains Cosmébio. “The objective of this study was to observe two leading references in the anti-aging skincare category, one organic and the other conventional, in pharmacies. The comparison focused on their effectiveness in moisturizing the skin, their anti-wrinkle effects, and overall satisfaction with their use.”

Protocol

For a quantitative assessment, instrumental and usage tests were carried out. Corneometry was used to assess skin hydration on 11 volunteers, 8 hours after use. An analysis of the reduction in length, depth, number of wrinkles, volume and area of crow’s feet wrinkles was carried out on 21 women after 56 days of application.

Results

Both cosmetics scored well, with moisturizing results persisting for at least eight hours (+13% for the organic and +13.5% for the conventional).
