Covid-19 : la mobilisation de l’industrie cosmétique

Like many countries, France is facing an epidemic on an unprecedented scale. While strong measures have been taken by the government to contain the coronavirus crisis, compliance with hygiene rules is paramount. In a concern for solidarity, several actors of the beauty industry have launched the manufacture of hydro-alcoholic solutions and other fundamental products, intended for hospitals, clinics, EHPAD, distribution and pharmacies.

“Reserved until now for detergent professionals and pharmacists, the production of hydro-alcoholic gels has been authorized since Friday 13 March, by ministerial order, to the actors of the cosmetic sector who have responded to the government’s call through at least thirty voluntary companies, including large groups as well as SMEs,” explains FEBEA. “In concrete terms, this means that a great number of companies that usually manufacture perfume or soap have or will launch in the next few days a new production line and formulate hydro-alcoholic gels, according to one of the formulas approved by the government.”

On March 15, 2020, LVMH declared that three of its plants would be used to contribute in turn to the preparation of this product and to reinforce the stocks of 39 public hospitals, including those of AP-HP.
So far, twelve tons of gel have already been delivered free of charge… and this is only the beginning.

For its part, L’Oréal has drawn up a European Coronavirus solidarity plan.
In particular, the group has announced:
