As the calendar year draws to a close, it’s time to take stock of the past few months. As usual, Time Magazine lists all the products that stood out during the year. The ranking dedicated to beauty includes a special focus on new technologies.

“To compile this year’s list, we solicited nominations from Time editors and correspondents around the world, as well as through an online application process, paying particular attention to burgeoning fields such as healthcare, artificial intelligence and green energy. We then evaluated each candidate based on a number of key factors, including originality, effectiveness, ambition and impact,” explains the magazine.

In the end, 200 products were selected and classified by category.
Here are the beauty rankings.

Luum Precision Lash
To simplify and shorten the application of eyelash extensions, Nathan Harding came up with the Luum Lash device. It’s a robot that can do the job in half an hour (instead of three to a quarter of an hour, depending on the volume required).
To date, Luum has produced over 160,000 eyelash extensions, at a cost of $170 for a complete application. The tool has been awarded 51 patents in 25 countries.
