The instigator

It seems that the term biomimetism was first coined by the Naos Group brands: Bioderma, Institut Esthederm and État Pur.
This founding principle for the group involves using ingredients already present in the skin, or those that mimic its natural functioning (because the skin assimilates better what resembles it). This ensures optimal tolerance and long-lasting efficacy.
“Rather than over-treating the skin, we need to teach it how to live,” says Jean-Noël Thorel, Founder of the Group. The skin has always been his great inspiration, and all the answers can be found there! Naos sees it as a living ecosystem, constantly interacting with its environment and evolving over time.
This dynamic vision has also given rise to ecobiology. Radically different from traditional cosmetics, this scientific approach is based on respect for the skin and its ecosystem, as well as knowledge of its biology.
Naos’ ambition? To concretely help skin adapt to its environment, draw on its deep-rooted resources to act on the causes of skin imbalances and restore its natural functioning.
