This new infinitely delicate fragrance pays tribute to paper and graphic expression, which have always been part of the construction of Diptyque fragrances.
Through its history, its nature and its name, L’Eau Papier is a tribute to creation, the backbone of the House, and to paper, the primary medium of its expression. Fabrice Pellegrin, the perfumer, has masterfully staged its poetic evocation, with the raw materials echoing each other to tell the story. “I started with a primary ingredient, the cereal, sesame in particular and its roasted seed extract. It is the surprising element of the fragrance, which I chose to evoke the new smell of ink and bring a refined gourmandise. I sublimated it by working with musky notes, for more sensuality. I then added floral notes of mimosa, with its powdery and delicate properties, to accompany the soft note represented by the paper. The singularity of the cereal and ink accord combined with the sweetness of white musks for the scent of paper define the fragrance. I sought to translate the delicate and sensitive contact of ink on paper by an overdose of musks,” says the perfumer.
Eau Papier can be appreciated differently from one skin to the next and over time, thanks to the ability of white musks to reveal themselves and develop over time.
