Freshen up your products with fragrance at in-cosmetics 2013

A crucial component in any cosmetic and personal care product, fragrance plays a significant role in providing the best possible sensory experience for users and can act as a differentiator in a competitive market. As such, fragrance, and its use in beauty and personal care products is being brought to the fore when in-cosmetics 2013 opens its doors in Paris (16-18 April, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles) – the home of fragrance and cosmetics.

On 17 April, in-cosmetics, in association with the Société Française des Parfumeurs (SFP)  dedicates a morning session to explore the latest trends, regulations and formulation challenges in the fragrancing of cosmetics products.

The first in a series of three presentations takes a look at consumer insights into scent trends and innovation to help manufacturers ensure products hit the mark with consumers and keep pace with evolving trends. Anne Dux of the Fédération des Entreprises de la Beauté (FEBEA), then takes the floor to advise on the regulatory landscape in Europe, followed by a presentation on formulation challenges including stability, colour changes, absorption and evaporation by Dr. Jonathan Warr at Takasago.

The session concludes with a roundtable discussion entitled ‘Fragrance in Cosmetics – Pleasure, Wellbeing, Emotion’, with participants from IFF, Cinquième Sens, Société Française de Cosmétologie (SFC) and the Bicetre Hospital, CNRS debating the use of fragrance in cosmetics – its sensorial benefits and the emotional connection made by consumers based on a product’s sense.
