Comforting as the cold weather approaches, it is a real ray of sunshine that envelops us in its almost suave softness. Its powdery facets with their vintage side explain in part its success, as well as its locavore culture (it is very present in the South of France) which allows perfumes to ” get an ecological drive “.

The perfumery uses the winter mimosa, also called the florists’ mimosa. It is grown in abundance on the French Riviera, where the climate is perfectly suited to it. Mimosa flower absolute exhales a powdery floral scent with delicate honeyed and straw-like accents. Feminine and glamorous, it is a romantic fragrance par excellence!

Jean-Claude Ellena has just brought the mimosa back into the limelight for Le Couvent Maison de Parfum in his magnificent Signature Collection, which rethinks the natural raw material and is in keeping with the know-how of the artisan-artist. Its mimosa is a radiant powdery floral, a soft, silky and caressing fragrance, composed around a mimosa and cedar wood absolute. As close as you can get to the fluffy little balls, after spraying it, yellow spots would almost dance before our eyes! (Mimosa, 100% vegan eau de parfum, made with 84% natural ingredients, 100 ml, €139 or 10 ml, €16).

Korres also plays it up in its Morning Mimosa Eau de Toilette (50 ml, €44.90), a gender-neutral floral chypre where mimosa languishes around an opulent floral heart (rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang), patchouli, and tonka bean. Its non-photosensitizing formula contains 87% ingredients of natural origin.
