Put off the masks!

© L'Observatoire des Cosmétiques

Nothing like its immediate effectiveness to give a boost to the skin and boost good mood! What's new this season? We find them for almost everything: nails, feet, body, décolleté, neck… and obviously the face or eye contour. Night mask, after-sun, detox or oxygenating… impossible not to find your own in the cosmetic zoom of the week!

Reading time
~ 5 minutes

Welcome to spring to shine a skin on the edge of the burn-out and negotiate the perilous turn of the"winter complexion", masks are the little"more" beauty that one can offer oneself without ruining oneself, especially since brands have the good idea to offer them to the unit. It thus becomes an"appealing product" that can make women want to explore a brand's other ranges. Sephora has never been late in a trend and is highlighting them this spring (the brand has even developed a specific brush with a silicone tip to easily apply them to the face). The sign thus offers no less than eight fabric patch masks for the eye contour area, to be applied for 15 minutes and not rinsed off. All you have to do is find your colour (green to refresh, red to relax, fuchsia to moisturise…) to choose the right mask (Green Tea Eye Mask, Ginseng, Pomegranate, Lotus, Pearl… 4 g, 3.95 €, from 27 April). Other new specific eye patches, now well established in women's beauty habits, at Payot (Perform Lift Eye Care Express Relaxing Lift Patch, (10 patches of 1.5 ml, 44 €), as well as Esthederm (Lift & Repair Patchs Lift Eye Contour, 10 sachets of 2 patches, 68 €).

Face masks: first of all unusual sensations

Sensoriality is the object of all attention. It is first of all a question of surprising, of creating new sensations with effervescent, granular or greedy textures. One can thus find oxygenating masks as sparkling as champagne, whose oxygen bubbles activate on contact with the skin (Dr. Brandt Oxygen Facial Express Repair Mask, 40 ml, 69 €, from June at Sephora ; Sephora Oxygenating Detoxifying Micro-Bubbles Mask, 40 ml, 13,95 €). Or creams or jellies to fill up with vitamins (Academy Multi-Vitamin Mask, 75 ml, 38 €; Energizing Moisturizing Jelly Mask, 6 monodoses of 6 ml, 13.95 €). Caudalie devotes a complete range to face masks where everyone can find their happiness: Instant Detox Mask, Purifying Mask, Glycolic Peeling Mask or Moisturizing Cream Mask (75 ml, 20 €). Night masks (Drops of Youth Night Mask rebound effect The Body Shop, 90 ml, 29 €; Hydra Sublim Marionnaud Night Mask & Cream, 75 ml, 12,90 €) or exfoliating masks (Clarté Maria Galland Peeling Mask, 75 ml, 46 € ; New Skin Cream Mask Vital Protect Marionnaud, 75 ml, 16,90 €; Purifying exfoliating mask Clear Difference Estée Lauder, 75 ml, 52 €) continue their expansion. There are even double-action masks that combine clay and care oils for deep cleansing, such as Glamglow's Powermud cleansing care oil mask (50 g, 49.90 €, at Sephora). Something to satisfy all our desires for new skin and spring moulting! When it's not - Easter coming - our chocolate cravings! Clairjoie thus creates a mask certified organic, nutritive and regenerating, with the irresistible smell of ganache: Nutrific Chocolate Mask (50 ml, 20 €). We'd lick each other's lips! Sensitive skins are not forgotten, spring being also the season of skin sensitivity: MultiSensitive S.O.S. Soothing Mask Mary Cohr, 50 ml, 33 €; Bio-Soothing Mask Thalgo, 50 ml, 28 €; Anti-Redness Mask Roseliane Uriage, 40 ml, 11 €. Curiously, the anti-aging mask is not in the spotlight, with a few rare exceptions (Beauty Mask 14 ultra-repairing face mask Carita, 50 ml, 49 €, limited edition; Intense Regenerating Concentrated Light Mask, 50 ml, 19,50 €). Not enough fun probably…

From head to toe…

The most original masks concern the feet (SOS Feet Socks Mask, 14.99 €, based on exfoliating and regenerating fruit acids, at Monoprix) or nails which, with nail polish, really need a break (Intense Night Mask for Manucurist nails, 12 ml, 18 €) ! This last, concentrated in urea, allows an intense rehydration particularly appreciated by dry, brittle and fragile nails. It is applied to a clean, bare nail in the evening and leaves a film that is removed with soap in the morning. An excellent idea to offer to her nails once a week. Sephora proposes a double exfoliating mask for the body (papaya enzymes and apricot kernel seeds): Body Exfoliator and Mask Express, 50 ml, 2,50 €. Finally, let's end with the specific cleavage masks, an often wrinkled area that deserves to be smoothed. After Maria Galland last year, it is Talika's turn to launch a bio-cellulose mask dedicated to this area (Bio-Enzymes Mask Décolleté, unidose 25 g, 10 €). The brand also offers after-sun masks (Bio-Enzymes Mask® Après-Soleil, unidose 20 g, 10 €) or a specific mask to"lift" the neck (Bio-Enzymes Mask® Anti-âge Cou, unidose 12 g, 10 €). A creation which seems interesting to us, the neck being the great forgotten of the nonwoven or bio cellulose masks (the latter often stop at the contours of the face). A track to dig!
