Cosmetics on the Internet: DGCCRF cyber-investigators are watching!

We sometimes hesitate to buy our cosmetic products on the Internet. A very simple and almost austere room in a Parisian building of the Direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes, the DGCCRF . White walls… but two computers and four screens in front of which Fabrice Berthier spends whole days tracking down fraudulent practices to ensure the security of Internet commerce. And his interventions are not just virtual!

A service for consumer protection

Fabrice Berthier, Inspector and cyber-investigator of the DGCCRF is part of the CSCE, the Electronic Commerce Monitoring Centre, a branch of the SNE, the National Investigation Service. The main inspector Sophie Bresny details this device at the service of consumer protection: "The SNE consists of 70 people. Most are based in Morlaix and specialize in on-screen reports. The cyber-investigators (there are 15 in France, including 5 in Paris), in addition to the observations on screen, intervene on the ground to complete their investigation in the companies and the headquarters of the companies".
