For sure, a skin is a skin, and its structure, be it male or female, is similar. Nevertheless, a man’s has its characteristics.

A not-that-clean leathery skin

It is a fact: a man’s skin is thicker than a woman’s is. The 25% difference, on average, makes it less sensitive and more resilient. As it contains more collagen, it is less prone to fines lines and wrinkles, which generally appear later in the life.
Undeniable advantages in a time when eternal youth is heightened, but counterbalanced by a … rougher appearance.

Indeed, thanks to its larger sebaceous cells (that produce sebum), more plentiful than in women’s skin, and more active, due to the action of testosterone (THE androgen hormone) a male skin has a tendency to be oily, with open and clogged pores, to appear not that clean and  to have associated drawbacks, such as blackheads …

Needs to meet

To take care of one’s skin is not typically male. Nevertheless … this specific skin needs specific care.
