Health, the new beauty marker

From skincare to health care, a new paradigm was born, and cosmetics brands must take it into consideration to meet the market demand. Pascale Brousse, founder of the Trend Sourcing agency, has watched, deciphered, and analyzed this trend: she presented it at the 2016 Natural Cosmetics Conference in Berlin last September 27-28.

Trend Sourcing is a prospective agency which identifies and deciphers global consumer trends and society changes to draw lessons and define working solutions for brands. At the 9 th Natural Cosmetics Conference held in Berlin by publisher naturkosmetic verlag , specialized in natural cosmetics and market research, Pascale Brousse, the agency’s founder, presented the results of their recent study, Health Statement .

A change in beauty’s image

‘About twenty years ago,’ Pascale Brousse started, ‘when people said they ate “organic” only, others thought they were a bit weird. Today, it is when they admit they do not practice any sports that they are considered with a very critical eye.’ The relationships between health, wellness, and beauty have changed a lot over the past few years.
In the years 2000, under the Asian influence, the keyword was ‘zen’. Then, the beauty concept became more holistic, and then it was more focused on health, following organic and star balanced-diet movements. Finally, around 2012, it all changed for a more integrative approach combining medicine, nutrition, and performance.
It is now the advent of advanced performance augmented by new technologies. Beauty radiance is getting increasingly related to good health, as PhDs in integrative medicine …
