Given the short-term deadlines of the “AGEC” law versus the more distant deadlines of similar provisions at European level, will France stall and wait for Europe to move forward or will it persist? The 13-2 list is not yet published. So there is still a lot of uncertainty in France.
Xavier Guéant’s answer
It depends on the subject. I think it is important to remember that we are indeed part of Europe and that the free movement of goods is an essential point, including in our regulations. However, in France we vote for members of parliament, the members of parliament legislate and there is the expression of the will of the people through their members of parliament. There is a balance to be found. But what is certain is that the will expressed by the legislator in the AGEC, Climate & Resilience laws, etc., well, we have to deal with that. There is …
