French cosmetics: establishment of a industry committee

Cosmétique française : création d'un comité de filière

Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy, Finance and Recovery, in charge of Industry, received on March 26, 2021 the various stakeholders of the cosmetics industry, including the FEBEA and Cosmetic Valley. The objective? To design a partnership action plan in favor of competitiveness, innovation, ecological transition and made in France.

During its États-Généraux, held on October 15, 2020, Cosmetic Valley had announced 30 measures to support the revival of the sector. The thirtieth was related to the creation of a strategic committee of the sector. The goal is to establish "a concrete and regular dialogue between the State and the territories to share and consolidate useful information, identify and prioritize common issues, agree on the direction of the national cosmetics, and build structuring projects. It is now done.

“A first meeting was held on Friday, March 26, by videoconference, under the aegis of the Minister and in the presence of representative actors of the industry (SMEs, ETIs, major groups, contractors, suppliers, federations). The purpose of this meeting was to establish a shared assessment of the strategic issues and to identify the structuring projects to meet them. The health crisis and its economic consequences have indeed exacerbated the main challenges facing the perfumery and cosmetics industry. Participants discussed several ways to promote innovation and competitiveness of the industry, environmental protection and consumer safety, and the solidarity of their ecosystem,” explains Cosmetic Valley.
