A decree against conflicts of interest in cosmetics

Released in the Journal Officiel of the French Republic, this decree, 2013-414, is designed to organize "the transparency of the advantages given by companies manufacturing or distributing health and cosmetic products for human beings". Thus, the benefits of more than ten euros and agreements will be, over time, made public through an Internet site, regularly up-dated.

The aim of this decree, known as "Sunshine Act", is to set the forms of transparency and of information to the public at large about the relationship (benefits or agreements) between companies that manufacture or sell health and cosmetic products for human use and some of the actors within the health sector.

The following is involved:
The companies that manufacture or distribute health and cosmetic products designed for human use, or providing services linked to these products,
The health professionals,
The associations of health professionals,
The students intended for health professions as well as the associations or groups that represent them,
The associations of the health system users,
The health facilities,
The foundations, learned societies and consultancy companies or organisms that deal with the health and cosmetic products' sector,
The publishing companies, radio or TV services companies and on-line communication companies that provide services to the public at large,
The publishers of software that aid prescription and dispensing,
The legal persons, which provide the initial training of health professionals or are part of this training,
