Benzotriazole (CAS No.95-14-7; EC No.202-394-1; INCI: Benzotriazole; Cosing function : Antimicrobial) has been incorporated into the CoRAP to clarify the following concerns:
• Endocrine disrupting properties in the environment
• Exposure of the environment
Its evaluation was attributed to Germany.
During the evaluation, persistency and mobility in the environment were identified as additional concerns.

In the light of the information available, the evaluating Member State proposes:
• A regulatory action at European level
• A CLH classification to complement the one already approved
• An identification as a SVHC (Substance of Very High Concern) subject to authorisation

Classifications “Endocrine disruptor”, “PMT”, “vPvM” and maybe “Reprotoxic”
Germany concludes that Benzotriazole meets the criteria for an endocrine disruptor (ED) for the environment according to the criteria of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and also the criteria for classification as ED ENV 1, EUH430 of the new hazard criteria of the revised CLP Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008.
Furthermore, due to fulfilling the criteria for being persistent/very persistent (P/vP) and mobile/very mobile (M/vM) and fulfilling the T criteria due to the ED ENV 1, Germany also considers the criteria for PMT as fulfilled under the revised CLP regulation.
Additionally, due to fulfilling the criteria for …
