The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has just launched two consultations on proposals for harmonised classification and labelling of ingredients used in cosmetics. This is a second consultation targeting silver and a proposal for a new classification for extracts of Dalmatian yrthrum flowers (Tanacetum cinerariifolium).
Silver
Targeted consultations for CLH proposals are launched in case further information is needed on a particular hazard class, or if comments are sought on e.g. a specific additional document. They do not replace a normal consultation on CLH proposals but information that is collected is taken into account in the preparation for the opinion of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC).
As these consultations are targeted, the length of the commenting period is shorter than the usual consultation on a CLH proposal.
The proposal for the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of silver (EC: 231-131-3; CAS: 7440-22-4) was submitted by Sweden and was subject to a consultation, which ended on 18/12/2020.
