The 8th edition of the Cosmetagora formulation show was held in Paris last January 12-13, 2016. It was an opportunity for the more than 150 exhibitors to showcase their latest innovations and ongoing projects, and for visitors to identify the emerging or confirmed cosmetic actives trends.

Organized by the SFC (French Society of Cosmetology), Cosmetagora is a very popular professional event among cosmetics players, in particular manufacturers, distributors or raw material importers, research and development laboratory formulators and technicians, and tailor-made formulation subcontractors… let alone the many students in cosmetology that come to get an update on trends and connect with the job market.

Actives against all pollution sources

Protection against pollution, whether it comes from the environment, the climate, or the stress of an active urban lifestyle, is a fast-growing cosmetics trend, as can be seen with the boom of finished products with an anti-pollution claim, in particular in Asia. The trend is now spreading throughout Europe, and as for ingredients, new actives are being developed to help the skin fight against all oxidative stresses related to various skin pollution factors (anti-pollution, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, oxygenating, anti-UV agents…), while other already launched ones are being re-documented to get better positioned on this emerging segment.

An anti-blue light filter
