March, 5 - ICCR: nanos safety and alternative methods
ICCR (International Cooperation on Cosmetics Regulation) is an international group of regulatory authorities for cosmetics from Canada, the European Union, Japan, and the United States. This multilateral framework seeks to promote regulatory convergence, while maintaining the highest level of global consumer protection and minimizing barriers to international trade.
Three documents from the most recent annual meeting have just been released. One is dedicated to the safety of nanomaterials ( Safety approaches to nanomaterials in cosmetics ), the others to the alternatives to animal testing with an inventory ( Inventory of validated Alternatives to Animal Testing ) and a table of accepted methods ( Table with Internationally Accepted Alternative Test Methods ).

March, 4 - REACH evaluation report 2013
ECHA's annual evaluation report 2013 has juste been published. It gives recommendations to all registrants on how to improve the quality of their dossiers. As a consequence of ECHA's evaluation decisions, two thirds of evaluated registrations were brought into compliance following an update. In the course of 2013, the Agency forwarded 32 non-compliant cases to national enforcement authorities for their action.
