The state of California has just decided the ban of plastic microbeads in cosmetic products. At least six other states have passed laws restricting microbeads, including Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Gov. Jerry Brown of California signed legislation that bans plastic microbeads, giving his state one of the country’s strongest laws against the tiny abrasives used in exfoliators, toothpastes, soaps, and other cosmetic products.
This measure will enter into force as January 1, 2020.
