After three cancellations due to health restrictions in 2020 and 2021, in-cosmetics Global was finally able to set up shop at the Barcelona Fira. Held from March 28 to 30, this edition brought together hundreds of ingredient suppliers who came to present their new actives. A small round-up of the elements that caught the attention of the CosmeticOBS editorial staff.

For a few months now, sobriety has been a hot concept… and it seems that the exhibitors at in-cosmetics were receptive to it. Contrary to usual, the stands’ scenographies were less flashy, simpler.
Some suppliers indicated that they wanted to focus on the essentials without giving in to the call of one-upmanship. However, the atmosphere was still great (with a special mention to the saxophonist on the Vytrus stand) and the traditional aperitif-champagne took place.

Naturality in the background

A few years ago, most of the stands were decorated with green colors and plants to show their sustainable potential. This year, this is no longer the case. Has naturalness been put on the back burner? “On the contrary, but it is no longer a differentiating element. Sustainability is a prerequisite. It is no longer relevant to display this kind of information in an ostentatious manner,” explain some exhibitors.

The importance of well-being

More and more, cosmetics are positioning themselves as an ally to better understand daily life.
