It is THE topic when dealing with food. However, palm oil is also a major ingredient of our cosmetics! Is it less debatable then? Do its qualities overcome its drawbacks? Or shall we have the same concern?

Palm oil is used not only in chocolates bars and industrial food, but also as an ingredient in our cosmetics, found in the products we use every single day.

Look at the list of ingredients of your soaps, moisturizing or firming cares, tinted creams and foundations, anti-rings, your make-up removers, massage oils, shampoos or masks for skin or dry hair … what do you see?

• Sodium palmate,
• Sodium palm kernelate,
• Sodium palmitate,
• Potassium palmate,
• Potassium palm kernelate,
• Palm oil PEG-8 esters,
• Hydrogenated palm oil,
• Palm kernel glycerides,
• Elaeis guineensis kernel oil,

… just to name few!

Why are they so many palm oil and derivatives in our products?

Good ingredients … and cheap!

Palm oil is high in fatty acids (79%), mainly the palmitic acid, which nourish and tones up the epidermis . Therefore, it is regenerating, moisturizing, restructuring …
Furthermore, this vegetable oil is the highest in carotenoids, precursors of Vitamin A, an ingredient renowned for the protection and suppleness of our skin. It gives a similar care to hair, especially to dry or dull hair, which they give light and suppleness to.

All that, at a very low cost! …
