Parabens: in drugs as well

The French "Lachaud Law", designed to ban Parabens (among several substances suspected of being endocrine disruptors), continues to spark off turmoil and concerns. Indeed, further to cosmetics, there are present in many other products used every day by everyone … This law has put them back in the spotlight.

Right, Parabens are not a cosmetic(s) problem.

They are also found in food or medicine … a fact emphasized by the French daily "Le Monde" , which, in its 24 May 2011 issue, has listed  400 drugs containing Parabens.This is a further episode in the debate about Parabens , already reactivated by the approval of this "Lachaud law" on 3 May 2011 by the French Lower Assembly.

Nothing new, for sure: this information is not a true press scoop. Nevertheless, it is an additional point in the debate about some chemical substances, widely used though their potential toxicity is not yet thoroughly evaluated; this time, the French pharmaceutical industry is in the first line, when it has recently been in rough tides due to several sanitary scandals.
