This 29 April 2023 marks the entry into force of the new European Glossary of Cosmetic Ingredients, as updated by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/677 of 31 March 2022.
The first version of this Glossary was published in May 2019. The 2022 update incorporated the INCI names of new ingredients used since then, as well as corrections of errors or omissions found in the first text. The new list includes 30070 INCI names compared to 26491 in the previous version (but still without reference to CAS numbers).
These are the names that must be used from now on, notably in the lists of ingredients required on the labels of products on the market, as of 29 April 2023.
As a reminder, this Glossary is available on the European Commission’s website at Annex to Decision 2022/677.
