Following its plenary meeting of 21-22 June 2018, the SCCS published the final versions of three of its Opinions on the safety of Nano-Styrene/Acrylates copolymer, Water-soluble zinc salts, and HEMA and di-HEMA Trimethylhexyl dicarbamate. An Addendum to the Opinions on Climbazole has also been published.

Styrene/Acrylates copolymer (nano) and Sodium styrene/Acrylates copolymer (nano) – Final Opinion

Background

The SCCS published its Opinion on the safety of two cosmetic ingredients in nano form: the Styrene/Acrylates copolymer [nano] and the Sodium styrene/Acrylates copolymer [nano], following its adoption during the plenary meeting of 21-22 February 2018.
This Opinion has been subject to a commenting period of 10 weeks after its initial publication (from 2 March until 11 May 2018). There were no comments received and the final version of the opinion remained unchanged compared to the preliminary one.

Water-soluble zinc salts – Final Opinion

Background

On 13 March 2017, the SCCS published its Opinion on the water-soluble zinc salts used in oral hygiene products, after its adoption during its plenary meeting of 7 March 2017.
