The new natural extracts from Biolandes

For more than 30 years, Biolandes has specialized in the production of essential oils and natural plant extracts. The Group has just presented its latest innovations. On the program, innovative cosmetic ingredients: “enfleurage” of blackcurrant buds and vanilla pods, an oily macerate and a concentrated hydroglycerine extract.

With a rich catalogue of more than 200 references, the Biolandes Group continues to expand its range of natural ingredients for the cosmetics industry.

The “enfleurages”

“We have worked to revisit the enfleurage technique to offer extracts adapted to the formulation of cosmetic products. Inspired by this extraction method well known in perfumery, we capture molecules of our botanical materials by maceration in organic shea butter”, explains Camille Stacul-Carette, marketing manager at Biolandes. Once the operation is completed, the solution is filtered before returning to its solid form. Their dense and delicately scented texture then makes our natural enfleurages ingredients that can be directly incorporated into the formulation of lip balms. They also have the advantage of combining the properties of shea butter with the virtues of the plants used and are perfectly suited to the formulation of body creams and lotions”.

At the origin of these new extracts are two plants that were not chosen at random: Burgundy blackcurrant and Madagascan vanilla.
