Patch madness !

Need a boost of hydration, to brighten your eyes or neutralize imperfections? Patches offer a solution to every beauty problem. This segment of the cosmetics market is becoming increasingly popular in the United States. Foresight firm The Benchmarking Company sought to better understand American women’s affection for patches and the reasons why they use them.

The study was carried out in August 2023. 3,500 American consumers were surveyed.

Respondents apply patches to take care of themselves (98%). They believe they are effective and offer rapid results (77%).
A large majority (83%) buy them more regularly than they did two years ago. They use them at least once a month (78%), in response to immediate skin problems (37%). Moreover, the almost “instant” results are praised by 83% of the panel.

They are looking first and foremost to refresh their eyes (57%), get a shot of hydration (56%), fight blackheads (43%) and blemishes (42%).

Consumption and use habits

When it comes to choosing a patch, those surveyed pay close attention to the product’s effectiveness and how it feels on the skin.
54% of them buy them in supermarkets, and only 29% prefer premium products. They particularly appreciate products from Hero Cosmetics, Patchology, Peter Thomas Roth, Neutrogena and CosRX.

Generally speaking, they prefer to wear them during the day (62%) and leave them on for around 30 minutes. However, they think it would be better to apply them at night to maximize cosmetic effects.
