ASPA-INGRECOS becomes INGRECOS

ASPA-INGRECOS devient INGRECOS

ASPA-INGRECOS, the French association of manufacturers and distributors of surfactants and cosmetic ingredients, has decided to merge its two branches. The new entity created is entirely dedicated to cosmetic ingredients. As a sign of this refocusing, the union is changing its name to INGRECOS.

Created in 1945, the union initially brought together surfactant producers under the name ASPA. It then expanded to include a branch dedicated to cosmetic ingredients: texturising agents, active ingredients of natural or synthetic origin, pigments, preservatives, UV filters, etc. In 2011, it became ASPA-INGRECOS. At a time when its activity is increasingly focused on cosmetic ingredients, subject to growing regulatory and social pressure, the union has just decided to merge its two branches to refocus its expertise on cosmetic ingredients alone: ASPA-INGRECOS becomes INGRECOS. ASPA-INGRECOS is the French branch of EFfCI (European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients), which represents more than 140 member companies.

Adopted in the interests of consistency and continuity, INGRECOS’ name change is also reflected in a change of graphic charter which illustrates the union’s missions and the crucial issues it faces. Dressed in plant-based colours, the new logo evokes the current and future challenges of naturalness in the cosmetics industry. The molecule, symbol of chemistry, is a reminder of the union’s unifying role, while the font, sober and uncluttered, conveys the sector’s expertise and responsibility.
