2015: the year of skincare expertise for Beyond Beauty Paris
Skincare is a key sector of the cosmetics world, and for this reason it will be one of the focal points of the show. The stakes are high, intensified by market competition. Focusing on recent figures from a global leader brand, it is easy to see that two divisions in particular are outperforming the market. In the words of John Paul Agon, CEO of L'Oréal,
'As we thought and announced, in the fourth quarter of 2014 L'Oréal recorded its largest increase of the year. In a volatile economic context and an even less lively market, the Group saw growth across all divisions and geographic zones. L'Oréal Luxe and the Active Cosmetics Division confirmed pleasing progress and significantly outperformed their market.'
The latter is most profitable of all at 22.7%, in constant growth.
From these figures and analysis, it is obvious that the future of skincare is in expertise and dermo-cosmetics and even prescriptions. This theme will take the form of a conference debate (2h30min) on Tuesday 15th September at the show:
“Does the future of skincare lie in prescriptions?”
