Business France has just announced the launch of the 2nd edition of the French Beauty Booster China, a comprehensive five-month programme for cosmetic companies wishing to launch their brand on the Chinese market. Applications are open and an information webinar is announced.
The world’s largest market for French cosmetics exports for the past two years, Continental China is the second largest market for cosmetics in the world, neck and neck with the United States, but its average annual growth of 12% could, by 2025, make it definitely the largest.
Its imports in 2021 jumped by +49% compared to 2019, and its market grew by 13% in 2021.
France is now China’s 2nd largest supplier (on a par with Japan), with growth of +59% between 2019 and 2021.
Among the major market trends are perfumes and toilet waters, male cosmetics, natural and organic cosmetics and new technologies applied to cosmetics.
Since January 12, 2021, a new regulation has come into force that allows the export of ordinary cosmetics (except for suncare products and hair dyes) to China without animal testing. This economic and regulatory context offers many opportunities for French manufacturers.
It is in this context that Business France is launching the 2nd edition of the French Beauty Booster China.
