The company specializing in hygiene products wants to participate in equal opportunities. That’s why Colgate-Palmolive has set up the “Inspire Our Future” program, which aims to finance the education of ten young African-Americans, to the tune of $10,000 per year.
Colgate-Palmolive wants to help black and African-American students “who demonstrate a lasting commitment to supporting their communities.”
Of the ten scholarships awarded, five are reserved for those pursuing a degree related to the various engineering professions. The other five are for those pursuing a degree in marketing.
Eligible candidates are those who are already enrolled in a university program. The scholarships are renewable for up to two years or until a bachelor’s degree is obtained.
“We are honored to be able to add this new scholarship that helps promote DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in education,” said Jesper Nordengaard, president of Colgate-Palmolive’s North America division.
Students can apply online until March 21, 2022. Colgate-Palmolive’s selection committee will interview successful applicants and notify awardees the week of June 13, 2022. Scholarships will be disbursed to recipients’ schools in August 2022.
