Forbes magazine, in partnership with the Statisca polling institute, has produced a ranking of the companies where conditions are most favorable for women. And of the 400 companies in the top list, only eight belong to the cosmetics industry.
The question of women’s place in the world of work is not an insignificant one. “According to the International Labour Organization, an estimated 47% of the world’s workforce is made up of women, compared with 72% of men. And when women are employed, they tend to hold lower-quality jobs,” explains Forbes. “Many companies recognize that, to attract and retain female talent, it is essential to offer employees benefits such as flexible working arrangements, skills development programs, family leave options and a philosophy that promotes female empowerment.”
Forbes and Statistica have therefore compiled this ranking of the most “women-friendly” companies, to highlight those who are working in this direction.
Good news for the cosmetics industry. The Estée Lauder Companies took second place. Aptar (#13), L’Oréal (#15) and Unilever (#17) are also well placed.
We then have to wait until the 54th step to see Procter & Gamble.
Shiseido (#120), Yves Rocher (#135) and Colgate Palmolive (#235) are the last companies in the industry to appear in the ranking.
