Committed to a strategy of sustainability (Life 360 program), the group has announced its intention to reduce its water footprint by at least 30%. To achieve this, LVHM has devised an ambitious global water conservation plan.
“In view of the urgency of the water situation in France, but also in many other regions of the world, LVMH is increasing its ambition and adding a new commitment to its LIFE 360 global environmental strategy: to reduce the Group’s global water consumption footprint by 30% by 2030,” explains the company.
To achieve this, LVMH wants to:
• Continuously improve measurement of the water consumption footprint throughout the Group’s value chain (thanks to pressure indicators and geolocation, which enables specific action plans to be deployed in areas suffering from water stress)
• Use the best technologies for reusing wastewater
• Implement manufacturing processes that consume less water
• Continue the Group’s regenerative agriculture program initiated in 2021 (which aims to improve soil quality and thus its capacity to capture and retain water)
• Display the environmental impact of products
“At the end of 2023, we will also unveil a qualitative objective to reduce our water consumption footprint and improve the quality of water discharged into natural environments”
