National Launch for SignalConso, the DGCCRF platform

After a pilot test phase in certain regions of France, Signal Conso is now accessible to the entire territory. SignalConso is a DGCCRF alerting device that allows consumers to report deficiencies or make a complaint against a merchant.

“A win-win service” is how the DGCCRF presents its new tool.
“Consumers will easily be informed about their rights and the steps to take in the event of fraud. All alerts will also be forwarded to professionals so that they can provide a rapid response to consumers and, if necessary, bring themselves back into compliance. The most scrupulous professionals will indeed be keen to act quickly to meet their customers’ expectations. For their part, DGCCRF investigators will use the alerts to better target their controls and to quickly identify any emerging fraudulent practices and put a stop to them.

How does it work?

All you have to do is go to https://signal.conso.gouv.fr, select the trade with which there is a dispute and fill in a questionnaire.
The offending company and the DGCCRF are immediately informed of the complaint.


First phase of tests

Before being extended to all of France, the service was tested in Centre-Val-de- Loire, then in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Occitania.
Results:
• 60,000 visits were recorded on the site in 2019
• 3,400 reports have been filed on the platform since the beginning of the experiment (most of them concern price, hygiene, expired products and contractual disputes)
