Question - MAF
What do you know about progress in the use of MAFs? And whether the MoS will be higher than 1,000, which would make it difficult to validate the use of ingredients?

The MAF (Mixture Assessment Factor) is one of the issues still under discussion as part of the revision of the Cosmetics Regulation. Clearly, a MAF of 1,000 is untenable, as there would be no more cosmetics. What would this factor be? There have been discussions about 5, 10, 50, 100… but today, no one is saying. It won’t be 1,000, that’s for sure. But the discussion today is more along the lines of: would the MAF be used only in certain cases (for example in the context of the GRA, i.e. for ingredients that would fall within the scope of what will become Article 15 of the …
