Scentys, a company specializing in this field, offers solutions for perfuming both small and large spaces. Pierre Loustric, President of the company, spoke to CosmeticOBS about the challenges of creating a successful olfactory signature.
CosmeticOBS: Before getting to the heart of the matter, what exactly does Scentys do?
Pierre Loustric: We’re a French industrial SME founded in 2004. In almost 20 years, we’ve established ourselves as the Rolls-Royce of fragrance distribution! To achieve this, we work with two types of technology: fragrance capsules (on which we hold worldwide patents) and diffusers. This enables us to scent cars, as we did with the Peugeot 3008, as well as large spaces (La Défense towers, airports). We’re a real alternative to scented candles, incense sticks and the like. Today, Scentys has 35 employees. The head office is based in Paris and the factory is in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône.
CosmeticOBS: What makes your technology so special?
PL: Our products are the healthiest way to scent an interior. They contain no alcohol, solvents or VOCs. Our solutions are therefore risk-free for young children, allergy sufferers and pets. I’d also like to add that our solutions, particularly our cartridges that are placed in diffusers, are eco-responsible. They require less perfume concentrate than a candle. As a result, we need fewer raw materials, and our environmental impact is inevitably reduced.
