To combat harassment and discrimination on social networks, Sephora has published guidelines to help Internet users adopt appropriate behavior on the Internet. The retail giant has partnered with the Hollaback collective, which actively fights against all forms of harassment on the web.
The Internet should be a safe and secure space for its users, but this is not always the case. Sephora has therefore decided to partner with one of the leading anti-harassment organizations to raise awareness among its customers. “Our presence on social media is important and we need to ensure that our platforms are inclusive, welcoming and free of hate speech.”
Thus, Sephora invites its consumers to respect each other’s sexual orientation, to free speech on certain topics and to make sure that its social networks are a space where dialogue is possible. On the other hand, the retailer has announced that it will “moderate at its discretion” if a comment is insulting or offensive. Sephora is not going to stop there and is counting on Hollaback’s expertise to refine its anti-harassment strategy.
