The Cosmetic Valley has just announced that it is a partner of the call for projects on knowledge tourism launched by the French General Directorate of Enterprises. The objective is simple: to encourage the actors of the cosmetics industry to open the doors of their factories, to discover their trades and to be part of a sustainable approach to transparency.
“Knowledge tourism is the other name of the company visit. It is a tourism of meaning and values that responds to all the contemporary challenges of societies and territories. It allows to engage in direct communication with the public, to carry the Made in France and local production,” explains the DGE.
The Cosmetic Valley therefore wishes to democratize these guided tours among the actors of the beauty industry. This makes sense with the project of the International House of Cosmetics (which will be inaugurated in Chartres in 2024 by the cluster) and whose objective will be to make accessible “to the greatest number of people the French excellence, its trades and talents, especially in the field of perfumery-cosmetics.”
For the year 2021, cosmetic knowledge tourism will be tested in Normandy, Hauts-de-France, Grand Est, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Centre-Val de Loire. Other regions will join the program in 2022 and 2023.
