Ageing is an international issue that has social, economic and individual impacts. Preventing it and decreasing its side effects (all related pathologies) are major challenges for humanity. Thus, the understanding of ageing and in particular skin ageing mechanisms will allow us to live longer, better and healthier.

During Skin Challenges 2022, the Scientific Committee will allocate significant time to discuss the latest advances related to skin homeostasis and ageing. Our objective is to provide answers and a future vision on how the current researches can delay the side effects of ageing and skin ageing. A clearer picture of the skin ageing mechanisms will help in having a better vision on skin rejuvenation as well as wound healing, which are also of interest to our conference. The impact of lifestyle, diet and external factors on skin ageing will also be discussed.

Artificial Intelligence & Skin: Advances & Perspective

Skin Ageing & Challenges 2022 will introduce a new session on Artificial Intelligence & Skin. The aim of this session is to present the last advances and innovations in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to Skin and skincare, and to connect all the key actors involved in skin assessment, analysis and algorithm: clinician, dermatologist, academic, start-up, industrial, mathematician, computer scientists, and bioinformatician, in order to initiate the discussions on the development and applications of novel AI technologies to skincare.

In this session, a representative from PerfectCorp, USA, will elaborate on this topic and underline how artificial intelligence can be incorporated in the dermatology industry.

Researchers will also introduce a new concept of Electronic Skin that Anticipates and Perceives Touch from different directions.

Extracellular Vesicles & Skin Ageing: The Points of View

Extracellular vesicles and their integration within the skin science will also be highlighted during the meeting. In this session, international experts in the field will present their latest research, and introduce the most recent advances and discoveries incorporating extracellular vesicles and exosomes in skin care. Professional researchers will present outlooks on the use of extracellular vesicles for skin rejuvenation. They will also highlight their perspectives on extracellular vesicles as theranostic tools for skin diseases, ageing, and injuries.
