The French cosmetics industry is working for youth employment

La filière cosmétique française s'engage pour l'emploi des jeunes

Within the framework of the “1 junior, 1 solution” plan, the Cosmetic Valley competitiveness cluster, the FEBEA (Federation of Beauty Companies), the CNEP (National Confederation of Aesthetics and Perfumery), the UPB (Union of Beauty and Wellness Professionals) and the FFPS (French Federation of Selective Perfumery) signed on October 18 a partnership agreement with Thibaut Guilluy, High Commissioner for Employment and Corporate Commitment. The industry is committed to providing a solution (internship, work-study, job) to 12,000 more young people by 2023.

The French perfumery and cosmetics industry brings together several thousand companies and represents more than 300,000 jobs. Each year, it welcomes and trains the equivalent of 10% of its workforce in research, production, training and distribution, i.e. 29,000 students or apprentices, in work-study or continuing education.
Today, in conjunction with the High Commission for Employment and the commitment of companies, it is mobilising around the “1 junior, 1 solution” plan and is committed to providing a solution (internship, work-study, job) to 12,000 more young people by 2023.

To achieve these objectives, the beauty sector is mobilising on two axes of action:
• Informing the companies of the sector by organising regular relays with the professionals on the existing aid schemes relating to the employment of young people
• Promote the professions of the sector in order to reinforce its attractiveness to young people, to encourage their training and orientation in line with the emerging professions and the professions in tension, thus creating new outlets in terms of employment.

For example, the sector’s actors will launch the “Cosmetic Experience Tour”, travelling workshops presenting the professions of the perfumery and cosmetics industry to young job seekers and students.
