As every year, Ecovia organizes three days of meetings between industry professionals. It’s an opportunity to discuss all aspects of sustainability in cosmetics. The event will take place in Paris between October 30 and November 1, 2023.
While the full program has yet to be made public, the organizers are raising the tension by revealing some of the congress highlights.
The impact of cosmetics
For the first time, the summit will shed detailed light on how to measure the impact of skincare products in terms of sustainable development.
Environmentally-friendly cosmetics
The climate emergency is driving cosmetics companies to reduce their carbon emissions. Lucy Kirkup, from ClimatePartner, will explain how operators can measure, reduce and offset them.
Regenerative agriculture
A growing number of cosmetics and raw materials companies are considering adopting regenerative agriculture because of its sustainability benefits. Davines was one of the first companies to set up the European Center for Regenerative Agriculture in partnership with the Rodale Institute. Its Research Director, Dario Fornaro, will give details of the cosmetic raw materials the company cultivates.
The Sustainable Coconut Charter
AAK’s Laura Schlebes will explain how the Sustainable Coconut Charter aims to improve farmers’ livelihoods, reduce the carbon footprint of coconuts and increase supply to meet growing global demand.
Impact on biodiversity
Emma Trogen, Deputy Managing Director of Cosmetics Europe, will share some of the initiatives taken by her organization to protect biodiversity.
