Rettenmaier & Söhne France has just added two new technical ingredients to its portfolio: Vivastar CS 3005 XV, an alternative to synthetic thickeners, and Vitacel CS 300 soft, a solution to replace plastic microbeads.
Vivastar CS 3005 XV
It is a white, COSMOS-approved powder, obtained by a process of co-processing Tara Gum (obtained by grinding the seed) and Xanthan Gum for greater ease of use. It is designed to replace synthetic thickeners.
It is a powerful thickener and stabilizer for all cosmetic forms and a film-forming agent that brings softness to formulas.
• Loss on drying: max. 13.0 %.
• pH-value: 4.5 - 8.0
• Viscosity (0.5% in water): 20,000 mPas - 40,000 mPas

Vitacell CS 300 Soft
It is a soft white granulate based on cellulose, composed of 300 µm particles, which disappears after massage on the skin, for a new generation of exfoliants (body, face and scalp scrubs, toothpastes…).
It covers a wide range of parameters, which are not yet available on the market.
A haptic evaluation vs. a cellulose granulate and jojoba beads was carried out.
