The issue of the environment is one of the major themes of the L’Oréal group. Faced with the climate emergency, this major player in the cosmetics industry has just made new commitments for 2030. On the agenda: the fight against global warming, better management of resources and help for the most vulnerable.
“Over the past 10 years, we have been carrying out an in-depth transformation to reduce our impact across the entire value chain. By totally reinventing the way we design and manufacture our products, with sustainability as a fundamental requirement. We have even surpassed some of our ambitious targets,” explains Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman and CEO of the L’Oréal Group. But in the face of intensifying environmental and social upheavals, we know that this is no longer enough. The urgency is there. We collectively have a decade to act. With L’Oréal for the Future, we are aiming for an even more radical transformation.”
To define its missions for the next 10 years, L’Oréal has looked at the global boundaries set by the Stockholm Resilience Center.
“These limits, if crossed, could seriously jeopardize the survival of the human species on Earth.
