Post-Covid-19: will cosmetic events remain digital?

Product launches, regulatory congresses or trade shows dedicated to active ingredients (and others), there is no lack of opportunities to bring together players in the cosmetics industry. Covid-19 is forced, the impossibility to maintain these events has allowed the emergence of new digital formats… Are they intended to be long-lasting? Will they be the new post-crisis standard? In the 2020 professional agenda, the second quarter should have been rich in B2B meetings, but the coronavirus decided differently. While many countries in Europe and around the world were confined as early as mid-March, certain deadlines proved to be unachievable.

This is the case of Cosmoprof. Every year, this XXL show brings together packaging suppliers and brands of finished products. Organized in Bologna over three days, it attracts no less than 65,000 visitors.
After two postponements announced next June and September, the promoters have finally decided: due to health risks and travel restrictions, the physical edition is cancelled, and the event will be held in 2021. Nevertheless, an online version will take place from 4 to 10 June 2020.
On the programme: webinars and remote visits to the show. What about exchanges between participants and exhibitors? On this side, don’t worry. “Thanks to our CosmoprofMy Match, we create concrete business opportunities. You can interact with our matching software based on AI technologies, find brands and products on our digital directory and meet potential partners in our virtual rooms,” explains Cosmoprof’s press service.
