Nostalgia comes from the fact that time passes too quickly and, having worked on these issues, it brings back some memories. This article on"Primers" is interesting because it shows to what extent this category of products has now become an essential standard in make-up routines. But I am also a little annoyed by the discourse of brands constantly praising the new character of things that are already old.

As Ariane rightly points out,"primers" were first created for the complexion, to prepare the skin for make-up and to allow a uniform application of foundation. It is this aspect that I would particularly like to develop today.

For me, the adventure began at the end of the 70s when, after having worked on particular colour backgrounds for a somewhat unexpected use (body make-up for advertising photos!), we continued this approach in collaboration with the make-up department by formulating a white foundation. This practice, which was known to professional make-up artists, had practically no use at the general public level, and, apart perhaps from a few rare exceptions, these products were not included in the composition of the ranges classically offered by the leading brands.
